Freedom Rocker Feet: Setup, Inflation and Care Guide

What are Freedom Rocker Feet?

Freedom Rocker Feet are inflatable trainer feet that reduce stress on your body and bike frame during indoor rides. Unlike a fixed rocker plate, you fine-tune the amount of movement just by changing how much air is inside.

  • Ergonomic: softens the rigid, static feel of an indoor trainer setup

  • Adjustable: more or less movement, depending on how much air you put in

  • Non-slip: a grippy, tyre-like surface keeps the feet firmly planted

  • Freedom of movement: forward, back, side to side and up and down

  • Simple to fit: just fit, pump, and ride

Compatibility

Freedom Rocker Feet come in two shapes, Round and Oval, matched to your trainer model.

Setting up your Freedom Rocker Feet

Fit the feet to your trainer first, then inflate. This makes them easier to position and avoids putting strain on a fully inflated foot while you're fitting it.

  • Step 1: Fit. Attach each Freedom Rocker Foot to your trainer's feet or legs before inflating.

  • Step 2: Pump. Inflate each foot using the needle-style pump supplied with your Freedom Rocker Feet.

  • Step 3: Ride. Inflate to anywhere between 5 and 20 PSI, whatever feels right for you. Lower pressure gives more movement, higher pressure gives more stability. There's no single correct setting.

Key numbers

  • Inflation range: 5 to 20 PSI per foot. Adjust within this range to suit your preference

  • Maximum load: 40 kg per foot (160 kg total load capacity across a full set)

  • Recommended pressure check: every two weeks

Inflating with a needle valve

Freedom Rocker Feet use a needle valve, rather than the Presta or Schrader valves most cyclists are used to on their tyres. There's one important difference between them.

With a Presta or Schrader valve, no air escapes when you disconnect the pump. With a needle valve, pulling the needle out of the bladder releases a small amount of air as it comes out. This is normal, not a fault.

It's worth knowing this while you're finding your preferred pressure. The number you see with the pump still connected will read slightly higher than what's actually left in the foot once the needle is out. Once you've found the pressure that feels right for you, inflate a touch beyond that number to allow for the drop when you remove the needle. A couple of rides will help you dial in exactly how much to compensate by.

The 20 PSI maximum still applies while the pump is connected. Don't inflate beyond 20 PSI to compensate for the drop.

Checking and maintaining pressure

Like a bike tyre, Freedom Rocker Feet will lose a small amount of air naturally over time. How quickly this happens varies from rider to rider, since it depends on your weight, riding style, your starting pressure, and the environment you train in. We can't give you an exact deflation timeline, but regular checking keeps your setup performing the way it should.

We recommend checking the pressure in each foot every two weeks and topping up as needed to stay within your preferred range (5 to 20 PSI). This takes less than a minute per foot with the supplied needle pump.

If a foot feels noticeably softer or less responsive than the others, check and adjust it before your next ride. Uneven pressure across the feet can make your setup feel unbalanced.

Grip and stability

The grippy, tyre-like surface on each Freedom Rocker Foot stays planted on your floor or trainer mat while still allowing the rocking motion that reduces stress on your body and frame. Hard, one-size-fits-all rocker plates can shift or slide under load. These don't.

Frequently asked questions

Why has my Freedom Rocker Foot gone soft?

A small amount of air loss over time is normal, similar to a bike tyre. Check pressure every two weeks and top up to your usual setup. If a foot loses air noticeably faster than the others, or won't hold pressure at all, contact our support team.

What pressure should I use?

Anywhere between 5 PSI (minimum) and 20 PSI (maximum) per foot. It's a personal preference: softer for more movement, firmer for more stability. Experiment within that range to find what feels best for you.

How much weight can Freedom Rocker Feet support?

Each foot is rated to 40 kg, giving a full set a combined load capacity of 160 kg.

How often should I check the pressure?

Every two weeks, to keep your setup consistent and within your preferred 5 to 20 PSI range.

Can I use Freedom Rocker Feet with Zwift Ride?

Yes, Freedom Rocker Feet are compatible with Zwift Ride Adapters.

Do I need a special pump?

Yes. Freedom Rocker Feet come with their own needle-style pump. If you misplace it, any compatible needle pump will do the job. Using a different pump raises the risk of over-inflation, especially if it doesn't have a gauge.

Why does the pressure drop a bit when I pull the pump out?

That's normal for a needle valve. Pulling the needle out releases a small amount of air from the bladder, unlike a Presta or Schrader valve, which seals as soon as you disconnect the pump. Once you've found your preferred pressure, inflate slightly beyond that number to allow for the drop when you remove the needle.
