Using Apple iPhone or iPads with the WhisperDrive™ Smart

The Smart delivers, speed, cadence and power directly to your device via Bluetooth. ANT+ can be used but you must purchase an ANT dongle to use ANT+ to collect speed, cadence and Power.

Using an Android with the WhisperDrive™ Smart

The WhisperDrive™ Smart communicates directly with your Android device via ANT+ FEC and BLUETOOTH SMART.

Firmware Fix

Whisper Drive Smart Firmware Fix

How to solve issues when your Whisper Drive Smart (WDS) Firmware is compromised causing one of the following symptoms:

  • WDS light is solid red
  • Unable to connect to the WDS
  • WDS not showing up on any platform or device

Steps to resolve

  1. Download the nRF Tool Box App from iTunes or Google play.

  2. Download the WDS firmware to your phone. DOWNLOAD HERE
  3. Open the Tool Box App and navigate to DUF (Device Firmware Upgrade)
  4. Connect to Device (Possible list below) Note: Do not connect other named devices.
    • JBOOT (WDS default setting)
    • DUF…. (WDS default setting)
    • WhisperDrive
  5. Select Firmware
  6. Update

Please ensure procedure completes before disconnecting. Your light will start flashing once the update is completed.

If you are still having issues locating the WDS, please try LITE BLUE APP to find and locate your Bluetooth device.

If your device still does not show up on either the NRF or LITE BLUE APP, the issue is with your hardware unit. Please return to your retailer for warranty support.
